Oh, I realized what it is -- they are doubtless preventing hotlinking from other sites. The <img src = ""> tag probably won't work anywhere, for anyone. (I admit I'm not clear why someone who wants others to protest with the icon would do that... maybe they can't afford the bandwidth?) If you put the image on an image-hosting site that allows hotlinking, or as a DW user icon, it will be fine.
